This is caused due to some registry problems occurred, when the program doesn’t get installed properly. I am strugging with this very issue. It works perfectly for me. When you click the link after enabling the pop-up for the site, the issue should not arise. weblink

I did discover that if I switch to the new tab, hit Esc (stop) and F5 (refresh) the tab will finally open the link. Please read the entire post & the comments first, create a System Restore Point before making any changes to your system & be careful about any 3rd-party offers while installing freeware. Now i have to get my sites working in IE8. Ah well it's a good thing I kept Firefox as I've never had any issues with it.
You can open the same link in a number of tabs and it loads in some and not in others. Make sure that "mshtml.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.
